Boats at Dock

Continuing on with this piece I've started putting the reflections in the water. The boat on the top looks like its flying because I haven't put the reflections in yet! I'm having trouble with vertical lines in the UArt paper. Wondering if anyone else has had this problem?? And how to get rid of them.

My newest piece

Here is the beginning of my latest piece and its only a portion that would fit in my scanner. I'm using reference photos that I took last summer in Stonington, Maine. I'm working on UArt sanded paper 800 grit which is smoothest of the grades. I love the surface of the UArt paper as it takes the pencil quickly and evenly. This piece is going slow ... I've had a very stressful past two weeks in many ways. What bothers me the most is that my art is always affected by my emotions. But I think I'm back on track now!
