My newest piece

Here is the beginning of my latest piece and its only a portion that would fit in my scanner. I'm using reference photos that I took last summer in Stonington, Maine. I'm working on UArt sanded paper 800 grit which is smoothest of the grades. I love the surface of the UArt paper as it takes the pencil quickly and evenly. This piece is going slow ... I've had a very stressful past two weeks in many ways. What bothers me the most is that my art is always affected by my emotions. But I think I'm back on track now!

I know all about emotions affecting my artwork. It usually means it stops. I'd love to find a way to harness the emotion to include it into my work. This piece is looking great. Can't wait to see it finished. Hope things are looking better.

Kendra,
I'm very sorry to hear that you've been going through stressful times. Seems you must been channeling your energy in a positive way, because this piece looks beautiful already!

I love the way this piece looks in this post - boats floating in air, especially the one at the top. Can't wait to see it develop. And I'm glad to hear that things are on an even keel now!
