This is my completed orchid series hanging in the Art League of Rhode Island Annual Member Exhibit at the Bristol Art Museum, Bristol, RI. I was finally able to take a picture and post it. My piece received lots of good feedback at the opening reception, viewers can't believe it is colored pencil.

Can you tell me more about the surface you put on the gessoboard?
I'm amazeed at all your experiments - when I've tried doing my own grounds, they were tough to deal with.
You should do a mini workshop with these experiments for the chapter!!
The surface on the gessoboard is the liquid Colourfix Primer which I roll on .... I believe it was you who first told me about that surface!
I've been experimenting with making my own grounds because I want different colors more than different textures. I've been using Golden Acrylic Ground for Pastel in which I mix acrylic paint. I've also mixed in some pumice powder but I find its way too "gritty" for colored pencil work. Good thing I experiment small ....
I am going to do a mini workshop on the different grounds for the chapter next Feb or March!

That's okay about anonymous. I have been working small for now because its fun to do little studies and I'm experimenting with different grounds.
I do have a 16x16" that I am starting this week. The blustery weather creating waves on the beach have inspired me to start something new.
