Yesterday my colored pencil class drew colorful Coleus plants on dark burgundy Canson Mi Teintes paper. The class really did beautifully and I should have taken a picture of all the pieces. The dark background really lent itself to the greens and pinks in the leaves. At first the drawing exercise seemed a little difficult for them but we took it "leaf by leaf" and color by color and they all worked a fantastic drawing!

Drawing Colorful Leaves
Yesterday my colored pencil class drew colorful Coleus plants on dark burgundy Canson Mi Teintes paper. The class really did beautifully and I should have taken a picture of all the pieces. The dark background really lent itself to the greens and pinks in the leaves. Nice paper Kendra for such a subject. I use Canson color 502 in pastel board form. Have you tried it?

If its the Canson paper mounted on archival board, yes, I've used it. However, the more textured side is the side to be worked on. I like the paper because we use it on the smoother side and its easier to get good coverage with the pencil. I love the Canson surfaces for their wonderful colors.
